The Hangman
By Amy Luz U.Catalan
Violence erupts like misdirected bullets targetting
Even the innocent and the imagined perps,
Ruled by a persona with a bastardized mind that even the
Demon inside him cowers and recoils.
Unlawfully inhuman to deep-six his enemies,
Guilty lackeys divert the notoriety
Or sneak around the ground like rats scurrying to hide in the dark.
Dead are the thousands: guilty or sinless?
Even his executioners are unsure, yet they kill like mindless guard dogs!
Freakishly strong and iron-willed he fabricates himself to be;
In a land where both the impoverished and the schooled act as his
Lapdogs, the lot as virulent as the pandemic that ravages and
Insidiously contaminates the vulnerable, moreso the
Puppets that willingly deliver the soul of the nation
In a silver casket of rotting dreams and hopes; the wise, left with
No choice, cornered by false promises
Are now restive, their spirits want to resist the lunacy
Since this lyncher has been foolishly enthroned.
