Persephone Undone
Of the most unimaginable pain
that she saw in others,
she felt them more deeply.
Of the most tender of love
that she showed,
she cherished the ones
that tormented her soul.
For through all those
she sank to the depths of hell.
But she rose like foam
from the sea. Triumphantly!
She, then, relished
the bliss of heaven
while she remained unfazed
by the demons and shadows
that incessantly haunted her.
Emerging from Tartarus,
she carried her own Light.
This was the source, the entity
that paved her path.
For where there was darkness,
from its pit sprang
an aurora, a luminescence
a blinding brightness
that inundated the horrors.
No beast ever dared touch her!
Not even Hades, a god!
For though she had gentleness-
in her spirit and in her heart,
she learned to sharpen her spear,
and her aegis, she proceeded to glaze.
